We are proud to introduce our upcoming new brand ATDM(Artist, Title. Date. Medium.)

Limited run artist collaborations in numbered editions.

A continuation of the work we do with JCRT(sustainability, human first and environmentally conscious) - collaborating with some of the biggest names in the art world to create capsule collections using their work.

The introductory collection: a collaboration between artist Nayland Blake and JCRT along with our friends at Hyperallergic is created for PRIDE in order to raise money for the Transgender Law Center, the largest trans-led organization for trans advocacy.

Each piece will be limited to 100 editions. Each wearable artwork will be individually numbered 001-100

and include a One code that discusses the brand’s sustainable practices and story behind the work on the inside yoke.

There has never been a more important time for us to come together to fight back against the hundreds of bills being presented in congress! These laws are based on prejudice and not science they rely on absurd standards of gender for enforcement. Thus they attack not only any trans people but anyone caught wearing the "wrong" clothes. This scapegoating is being deployed to hide the fact that these legislators have nothing to offer the voters but fear!

Each shirt reads “This is clothing of the opposite gender” as a direct stance against these laws and an opportunity to stand united with our trans family. Like the anti trans laws of the past and the Stonewall Riots, our community is stronger only if we stand united.

For every shirt sold we will donate 100% of the profits to The Transgender Law Center!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Nayland Blake is a non-binary artist, writer, educator and curator, whose works on race, sexuality and gender have been exhibited throughout the United States and Europe. Their career retrospective “No Wrong Holes - 30 years of Nayland Blake opened in 2019 at the Institute for Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and closed in 2021 at the MIT List Center. They are currently the co-director of the studio art program at Bard College.

A soft all season Organic Pima cotton twill. Individually cut and sewn, all JCRT shirts are made of 100% organic cotton twill and feature a locker loop at the center back neck, split yoke for comfortable ease of movement and side gussets for reinforcement. Single needle tailoring throughout with French seam for softer seams. Our crisp collars and cuffs are made using the highest grade German interfacings. We have enhanced the feel of our shirts. Sustainably processed and naturally soft.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION:

As the wave of over 500 anti-trans bills sweeps across the nation, it is crucial to recognize the urgent need to halt these regressive measures.

These bills not only jeopardize the rights and well-being of transgender individuals but also perpetuate discrimination, exclusion, and harm. By actively opposing and toppling these bills, we can safeguard the dignity and equal treatment of all individuals, fostering a society that embraces diversity, inclusion, and respect for transgender rights.

These are the weapons used against trans people, their families and their friends in state legislatures around the US:

1. Restricting access to gender-affirming healthcare for minors:

Banning or criminalizing the provision of puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and gender-affirming surgeries to transgender individuals under the age of 18.

Prohibiting healthcare providers from offering or recommending gender-affirming treatments to minors, even with parental consent.

2.Limiting transgender individuals' participation in sports:

Imposing restrictions on transgender athletes' ability to participate in sports teams consistent with their gender identity.

Mandating that athletes compete based on their sex assigned at birth rather than their gender identity.

3.Undermining transgender individuals' rights to use facilities and access public spaces:

Prohibiting transgender individuals from using restrooms, locker rooms, or other gender-segregated facilities that align with their gender identity.

Allowing businesses and public entities to deny services to transgender individuals based on religious or moral objections.

4.Limiting transgender individuals' ability to update identification documents:

Restricting or eliminating the ability for transgender individuals to update their gender markers on official documents, such as driver's licenses and birth certificates.

5.Targeting transgender youth in education:

Prohibiting schools from affirming and respecting the gender identity of transgender students.

Banning or limiting comprehensive LGBTQ+ inclusive education, including discussions of gender identity and sexual orientation.

All of this leads to:

Erosion of civil liberties: The passage of anti-trans bills sets a dangerous precedent for eroding civil liberties and human rights. It establishes a framework that allows the government to intrude into the personal lives and medical decisions of individuals. Such encroachments on personal freedom can ultimately impact all individuals, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.
Reinforcing discrimination and prejudice: Anti-trans bills perpetuate discrimination and intolerance by singling out transgender individuals for disparate treatment. This fosters an environment that promotes bias, exclusion, and societal divisions. By enabling discrimination against one marginalized group, it opens the door to further discrimination against other communities.
Undermining gender equality: Anti-trans bills undermine the principles of gender equality and gender justice. By restricting transgender individuals' access to healthcare, sports participation, and other rights, these bills reinforce harmful stereotypes and reinforce a binary understanding of gender. This can have a ripple effect on cisgender individuals, reinforcing rigid gender norms and limiting opportunities for self-expression and personal fulfillment.
Negative economic impact: Some anti-trans bills have faced backlash from businesses, organizations, and tourism industries, leading to economic consequences for the states implementing such legislation. This can result in decreased investment, job losses, and a tarnished reputation. Ultimately, it affects the livelihoods and economic opportunities of cisgender, straight individuals residing in those states.
Undermining progress in LGBTQ+ rights: The success of anti-trans bills can have a chilling effect on the broader LGBTQ+ community's fight for equality. It can slow down or reverse progress made in securing rights and protections for all LGBTQ+ individuals, including cisgender, straight allies. By weakening the rights of one group within the LGBTQ+ community, the broader push for equality and acceptance is hindered.
